i’ve been keeping things simple the past couple months, and i have to say that it’s making the process a lot more fun! a different little touch i made this week was to stamp some 3×4 grid cards with the hello stamp from the sc camelot pl kit and journal underneath. that might be something i do more often.
there are a lot of dj photos in this spread. i’ll blame in on him being particularly cute.
and hello! i finally saw the lego movie. that shiz was so clever!
that photo!! right!! but first things first: july three.
it’s official, i’m (to make it a verb like miss caylee
) project life-ing too much this month! then again, that’s not necessarily a bad thing, right?!
i’m not usually one to keep my spreads light and airy (I’d say that’s more Kelsey’s
style, for example), but I had fun trying something a little different. those “today” and “yes” cards? I designed them myself! what do you think?
and on to one of my favorite spreads yet. i just adore black and white!
we had family photos taken on the 15th, and the photo of me and my son was my absolute favorite. i knew right away that it would become a full page image.
i kept things really simple with a few paislee press pieces and the midnight edition core kit.

“A portrait of my child, once a week, every week in 2014”
i love the way he eats. the way he loves food. he reminds me of myself.
my husband and i got married in april 2011 and went on our honeymoon to maui in november 2011. i’m so excited to finally be sharing the photo book i put together. i designed and printed the book through blurb, and the style is standard landscape.
it’s a long one, my friends, so broke it up into two posts, the first of which can be found here.
moving on to the rest of the pages!
i’ll admit that i was riding a pretty steady wave of project life inspiration the past few spreads, but i struggled with this spread. i knew what specific images i wanted to include but i just couldn’t get them to work together.
but, i got it done and the memories are documented, and that’s all that matters in the end!
i wanted to include a picture of a song i’ve been obsessed with a while now: sing, by ed sheeran.
when i opened the july sc kit i just knew that i had to include the ‘i’m not going to freak out’ card alongside the announcement of my best friends second baby making his arrival. such a perfect match.
the click of my camera.
acoustic music playing in the background.
a morning cup of coffee in the quiet house.
bubble baths with wine in hand.
books. always books.
cuddles with my son.
bike rides to get frozen yogurt.
phone calls with friends back in canada.
writing. always writing.
a cool, evening breeze.
two feet in the pool.
documenting my life through project life.
dinners on the barbeque.
dinner + a movie dates.
a hot shower after a long day.
climbing into bed under clean sheets.
secrets between friends.
and hugs. always hugs.
it’s no secret that i have an obsession with black and white, so this page holds a special place in my heart. it may have only covered a three day period, but it told plenty of stories, like what we are doing to cool down in the crazy summer temperatures, how DJ has been doing these days, my hubby’s decision to close down his business and some special news i received (cleverly hidden).
i wanted to include some great news that i received, but it wasn’t something i wanted to broadcast to the world just yet 🙂 i was also pretty excited to bust out my kellie ‘nom nom’ stamp.
lets start with: i can’t believe the year is already more than half way over.
i kept my volume two title page simple and tried my hand and the more traditional way of scrapbooking. all of these pieces (with the exception of the wood veneer stars + the background paper) are from the studio calico bluegrass farm
